The first board has lettered: Codice messicano ... Vol. 1, initium; Companion volume by Juan José Batalla Rosado with title El códice Borgia: una guía para un viaje alucinante por el inframundo, includes commentary and analysis in Spanish; "La presente obra consta de una reproducción íntegra del manuscrito Borg. mess. 1, conservado en la Biblioteca Apostólica Vaticana. Acompaña a esta obra un volumen de comentario, cuyo autor es Juan José Batalla Rosado, profesor titular de la Universad Complutense de Madrid.
