- Guide to the collection
- An assortment of 88 experimental narrative, artistic, and philosophical works from the subversive Mexico City publisher Gato Negro Ediciones, produced entirely within the past five years. With bizarre bindings and imagery, each book breathes fresh air into radical independent publishing scene and interrogates contemporary issues at the forefront of avant-garde and postmodern sensibilities. Much like zines (though less ephemeral), publications from independent publishers provide one of the few platforms for idiosyncratic writers on the margins of society, including many in the LGBT+ community as well as migrants. We are please to offer the following collection, in which artists and writers have collaborated with Gato Negro Ediciones in order to express their personal, political, aesthetic, and unique perspective on the world.
