Artemio Rodríguez (b. Michoacán, Mexico 1972, lived in Los Angeles, CA for several years before recently returning to his native town Tacámbaro) specializes in making drawings in the traditional manner: since his beginnings as an apprentice of printer Juan Pascoe, Rodriguez, he has developed a sensitivity and a particular style marked by his home state, Michoacan, and during his stay in Los Angeles, CA. One of the most interesting artists today, Rodriguez lives to make art, especially prints and illustrations for books. In this sense, Artemio Rodríguez's drawings and prints spread and preserve the traditional techniques of graphic art, now nearly a lost art in anticipation of new artistic ideas that considered this practice as something artisan.
