This line shapefile contains contours that were derived from a mosiac of 10 meter digital elevation models for the extent of the Russian River basin, located in Sonoma and Mendocino Counties, California.

Eez1000 is a 1000 meter resolution statewide bathymetric dataset that generally covers the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), an area extending 200 nautical miles from all United States possessions and trust territories. The data was adapted from isobath values ranging from 200 meters to 4800 meters below sea level; therefore nearshore depictions ARE NOT ACCURATE and "flatten out" between 200 meter depths and the coastline. The data is intended only for general portrayals of offshore features and depths. The Department of Fish and Game (DFG), Technical Services Branch (TSB) GIS Unit received the source data in the form of a line contour coverage (known as DFG's eezbath) from the United States Geological Survey (USGS). The contour data was converted to a TIN (triangulated irregular network) using ArcView 3D Analyst and then converted to a grid. The contour data was previously reprojected by TSB to Albers conic equal-area using standard Teale Data Center parameters. Some minor aesthetic editing was performed on peripheral areas using the ARC/INFO Grid EXPAND function. The image version was created using the ARC/INFO GRIDIMAGE function. This polygon shapefile contains the portion of the 2000 census blocks, summary file 1 (SF1) demographic data coverage that is within the watershed boundaries of the Russian River basin in California. Census TIGER are registered trademarks of the Bureau of the Census. The Redistricting Census 2000 TIGER/Line files are an extract of selected geographic and cartographic information from the Census TIGER data base. The geographic coverage for a single TIGER/Line file is a county or statistical equivalent entity, with the coverage area based on January 1, 2000 legal boundaries. A complete set of Redistricting Census 2000 TIGER/Line files includes all counties and statistically equivalent entities in the United States and Puerto Rico. The Redistricting Census 2000 TIGER/Line files will not include files for the Island Areas. The Census TIGER data base represents a seamless national file with no overlaps or gaps between parts. However, each county-based TIGER/Line file is designed to stand alone as an independent data set or the files can be combined to cover the whole Nation. The Redistricting Census 2000 TIGER/Line files consist of line segments representing physical features and governmental and statistical boundaries. The Redistricting Census 2000 TIGER/Line files do NOT contain the ZIP Code Tabulation Areas (ZCTAs) and the address ranges are of approximately the same vintage as those appearing in the 1999 TIGER/Line files. That is, the Census Bureau is producing the Redistricting Census 2000 TIGER/Line files in advance of the computer processing that will ensure that the address ranges in the TIGER/Line files agree with the final Master Address File (MAF) used for tabulating Census 2000. The files contain information distributed over a series of record types for the spatial objects of a county. There are 17 record types, including the basic data record, the shape coordinate points, and geographic codes that can be used with appropriate software to prepare maps. Other geographic information contained in the files includes attributes such as feature identifiers/census feature class codes (CFCC) used to differentiate feature types, address ranges and ZIP Codes, codes for legal and statistical entities, latitude/longitude coordinates of linear and point features, landmark point features, area landmarks, key geographic features, and area boundaries. The Redistricting Census 2000 TIGER/Line data dictionary contains a complete list of all the fields in the 17 record types.

Various versions of the TIGER/Line files have been released; previous versions include the 1990 Census TIGER/Line files, the 1992 TIGER/Line files, the 1994 TIGER/Line files, the 1995 TIGER/Line files, the 1997 TIGER/Line files, the 1998 TIGER/Line files, and the 1999 TIGER/Line files. The Redistricting Census 2000 TIGER/Line files were originally produced to support the Census 2000 Redistricting Data Program.

This point shapefile, from the Santa Rosa Subregional Long-Term Wastewater Project, Anadromous Fish Migration Study Program reports, displays the Fyke net monitoring of salmonid from three Russian River tributaries, including two target streams and one control (Maacama Creek), which were monitored over five migration seasons (1990-1995). Fyke nets fished in upstream and downstream directions, however Fyke netting is only effective during low to moderate stream flow periods so data should not be used to estimate annual salmonid populations estimates. Data collected includes information for steelhead, coho and chinook adults and juveniles. The study period included both normal and unusually dry rainfall seasons.

Data includes habitat improvement projects, research projects (surveys and studies of streams, roads, watersheds), education projects, and hatchery projects (including trapping, spawning, rearing and releasing salmonids) and contains all completed projects (for which final reports have been received) funded through the California Department of Fish and Game's Fisheries Restoration Grants Program (FRGP).

The shapefile was created by heads-up digitizing. Locations were taken from representations of stream habitat restoration projects marked on maps included in the paper documentation of the projects. Approximately 12% of projects sites (455/3850) could not be placed at specific locations.Line locations were originally digitized using two different methods. Instream locations were digitized by referencing them directly to the place along the stream in which the work was done. Locations that were not along streams were heads-up digitized. These two different shapefiles were merged into a single line shapefile for the purposes of this data release. See Supplimental Information for more details.

Approximately 12% of projects sites (455/3850) could not be placed at specific locations.

Original source data were digitized from a 1:1,000,000 source map compiled by S.E. Rantz, U.S. Geological survey, 1969, 1972. The map is based on data covering the period 1900-1960. Average rainfall zones were created by averaging the rainfall for isohyetals bounding.

Quantitative attributes include width, depth, substrate, bank vegetation, and slope to help identify restoration potential, stream health and monitoring potential.
