Abstract
The Tauler manuscript Hildesheim, Dombibliothek, 724b (ca. 1450-1500) contains the largest medieval collection of sermons by Johannes Tauler, including a group of anonymous texts and texts attributed to other mystic and Dominican authors, such as Jan van Ruusbroec, Rulman Merswin and Heinrich von Löwen. As for the authentic Tauler sermons, the Hildesheim manuscript is highly similar to the Middle Dutch Tauler manuscripts. The collection of additional sermons in the manuscript, on the other hand, is closely related to a group of 44 pseudo-Tauler sermons in the second part of the Basel Tauler print (1521). Aside from the Hildesheim manuscript and the Basel Tauler print, this collection of 'Pseudo-Tauleriana' can partially be found in a small number of Middle Dutch (Tauler) manuscripts, the 15th century High German manuscript Basel, University Library, O III 19, and the 16th century Low German manuscript Osnabrück, Staatsarchiv, Rep. 2 nr. 1. Several indications point to a German rather than Middle Dutch origin of the collection.

Abstract
This article examines the structure of the manuscript Brussels, KB, 643-44, IIa (fols. 114r-198v) and the coherency of the texts it contains. These texts were written by John Tauler, Master Eckhart, Jordanus von Quedlinburg, Alijt Bake and several anonymous authors. Alijt Bake, a fifteenth-century nun, seems out of place among these fourteenth-century male mystics. However, this article argues that her texts are the key to understanding the Brussels, KB, 643-44, IIa collection. Bake used the theme and structure of the texts by von Quedlinburg for her own texts. As an admirer of Tauler, she also added a preexisting text complex to her manuscript and enriched this collection with a variety of texts that discuss themes which are highly relevant to her own ideas. The manuscript can therefore be observed as an anthology of her ideas; in effect, it was part of what she considered to be her divine mission, namely teaching people how to reach God.

Abstract
The re-examination of two small twin statue bases CIL, XIV 58 and 59, respectively dedicated to Cautes and Cautopates, found during the excavation of the Mithraeum of the so-called Imperial Palace in Ostia in the nineteenth century, (now in the collection of the Vatican Museum), has determined that the text on the front of the bases was engraved on a previous erasure. This discovery has raised new questions concerning the chronology of the bases and of the Mithraeum complex.

Abstract
The actors of the Magna Mater's cult galli present emasculation practice among their main traits. This feature is totally incompatible with the Roman culture, so that ― from the Republican period until the first Christian authors ― galli will always be despised and even included into the monstrous sphere because of their sexual indetermination. In the literary sources, epithets referred to the galli show the collision between eunuchism and the official religion as well as the Roman law. Christian authors, in their apologetic intents, contribute to sketch a view that inheriting all pagan perplexities, denoting a marked loathing not as much to the galli themselves but to the immorality of the goddes they worship.

Abstract
The analysis of the provinces of Proconsularis Zeugitana and Numidia Militiana, created by Diocletian, is interesting for the study of the diffusion of oriental cults in Roman Africa because they are very different. The first was probably the richest land of Roman provinces of Africa and it had also a lot of cities; it was naturally open to the Mediterranean Sea. The second was on the limes and a military province. These same characteristics can be found in their archaeological and epigraphic religious monuments, especially for oriental cults. Mater Magna, Attis, Isis and Serapis had a homogeneous diffusion in all African Roman provinces, but Mithra and Iuppiter Dolichenus were venerated above all in military territories. For example in Zeugitana, without Carthage, these two deities are certificated only in two cities that had a military presence whereas Lambaesis has over twenty inscriptions.

Abstract
Firmicus Maternus wrote De errore profanarum religionum in a crucial period for the relationship between the traditional cults of the Roman empire and the Christian religion. The need for a definition of the religious identities led the Christian authors to build a new category to encompass, thoroughly, the cults and rituals of the Greek-roman world: in this context, Firmicus Maternus usedfor the first time the words religio profana to define them, with particular reference to the rituals coming from the East. This paper aims to unravel the reasons of such choice and analyse the comparative method used by Firmicus to demonstrate the diabolical origin of the Oriental cults.
