This paper shows the behavior of a three-phase power converter with resistive load using a quasi-sliding and a chaos control techniques for output voltage regulation. Controller is designed using Zero Average Dynamic (ZAD) and Fixed Point Inducting Control (FPIC) techniques. Designs have been tested in a Rapid Control Prototyping (RCP) system based on Digital Signal Processing (DSP) for dSPACE platform. Bifurcation diagrams show the robustness of the system. Chaos detection is a signal processing method in the time domain, and has power quality phenomena detection applications. Results show that the phase voltage in the load has sinusoidal performance when it is controlled with these techniques. When delay effects are considered, experimental and numerical results match in both of stable and transition to chaos zones.

This paper presents a novel methodology to characterize loads using the instantaneous power tensor theory in three-phase three-wire or four-wire systems. Tensor theory is based on the dyadic product between voltage and current instantaneous vectors; this definition allows us to represent the phenomena of power quality produced by loads operation, through the deformation of a cube and the trajectory of one of its three-dimensional vectors. This new way of characterization could help researchers to construct better models of three-phase loads, or to achieve a better monitoring and machines diagnosis. Results are reached by implementing simulations in MATLAB® and endorsed with experimental measurements.

OIL palm, PREDICTION models, SOIL moisture, ENVIRONMENTAL management, and PEARSON correlation (Statistics)
- Abstract
-
Agriculture as a competitive business, seeks to improve productivity within crops with a more sustainable environmental management. It is important that agriculture includes new technologies that allow it to generate differential, precise and real-time information. In Colombia, the current lack of knowledge about techniques that allow early identification of water stress in African palm could generate a loss in the investment made in the fertilization of the crop, cause an increase in diseases, pests, and susceptibility to compaction or abortions in female flowers that would lead to decreases in production. In this work, a predictive model is established to quantify water stress based on spectral, physiological and soil information in African palm plants. To this end, a study was carried out in an oil palm plantation where treatments were established with 3 ranges of humidity. It was found that the indices with the highest correlation with the biophysical variable soil moisture were: NDVI_1 and NDVI_16 for treatment 1, SR_4 for treatment 2 and NDVI_16 and NDVI_20 for treatment 3. Finally, the third order polynomial regression model that obtained higher correlation coefficients of Pearson R^2=0.73 was selected as the most suitable model to estimate soil moisture content for treatments 2 and 3. - Abstract
-
The objective of this study was to determine the efficiency and theoretical stability of the anaerobic digestion of the wastewater sludge obtained from a municipal wastewater treatment plant, using co-digestion with cocoa pod husks. The chemical structure of sewage sludge, including its high carbon and nitrogen content in carbohydrates and fats, gives it vast potential for biomethane generation. In this study, the main agri-food residues in the geographical area where the study was conducted that could be used for co-digestion were determined, and cocoa pod husks were found to be the best option based on elemental chemical analysis. The results demonstrate that the co- digestion of sewage sludge with cocoa pod husks can produce up to 555.7 L CH4/KG SV. In this article, we also propose a method for estimating biochemical methane potential (theoretical BMP) based on chemical equations and a systematic review of the most relevant research in BMP. LINEAR induction motors, PARAMETER estimation, AIR gap (Engineering), INDUCTION machinery, and LOAD forecasting (Electric power systems)
- Abstract
-
This work describes a method to characterize a three-phase linear induction motor in order to determine the various parameters used in its per-phase equivalent circuit by a DSP-based electric-drives system. In LIM (Linear Induction Motor), the air gap is very large compared with the RIMs (Rotary Induction Motors). Further, the secondary part normally does not have slotted structure. It is just made of aluminum and steel plates. Therefore, the effective air gap is larger than the physical air gap. High air gap makes a larger leakage inductance. It leads to lower efficiency and lower power factor. DC resistance test will be done to determine the value of Rs. The primary Inductance Ls will be calculated by running the LIM at synchronous speed. The secondary parameters i.e. Llr and Rr' will be calculated by blocked-mover test. The experiment for no load test is shown and include a DC motor coupled to the LIM under test. Two methods to calculate the secondary parameters are described. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
-
In this paper, the output voltage of a buck power converter is controlled by means of a quasi-sliding scheme. The Fixed Point Inducting Control (FPIC) technique is used for the control design, based on the Zero Average Dynamics (ZAD) strategy, including load estimation by means of the Least Mean Squares (LMS) method. The control scheme is tested in a Rapid Control Prototyping (RCP) system based on Digital Signal Processing (DSP) for dSPACE platform. The closed loop system shows adequate performance. The experimental and simulation results match. The main contribution of this paper is to introduce the load estimator by means of LMS, to make ZAD and FPIC control feasible in load variation conditions. In addition, comparison results for controlled buck converter with SMC, PID and ZAD–FPIC control techniques are shown.

This research has as main objective the development of a unified power conditioning system, modeled as sinusoidal voltaje and current power sources for a medium power electrical distribution systems. In addition, the work includes simulation algorithms that made it possible to test theories using computer simulations and compared with traditional techniques Doctorado

It is a matter of debate the definition until now been given to the components of electrical power. For sinusoidal and balanced source connected to linear and balanced loads, the interpretations are clear and there is no controversy about it, but when it comes to any alteration to any of these conditions considered ideal, the issue of properly defining power, is widely discussed and consequently there are many theories about it have been given. One of the most accepted theories and therefore studied and applied to the design of active filters is based on the approach vectorial of the voltage and current in electrical systems, called the PQ Theory or the instantaneous power. In 2010, a theory was developed for the decomposition of tensor components of electric power, called Instantaneous Power Tensor “which makes use of tensor as algebraic structure of various components, to generalize the concepts of scalar, vector and matrix an independent coordinate system chosen. This thesis hypothesizes that as the vectorial formulation is appropriate for the compensation of three phase systems, and since the power works to generalize the elements of algebra, then the tensor approach can be used to compensate for systems of more than 3 wires. It is also to explain, because to compensate systems of n phases. They develop basic compensation algorithms, as a first approximation to the theory of active filters, with the power tensor, and an active filter is implemented with the hybrid simulation methodology. The ultimate goal of research is to experimentally validate, through simulation hybrid, the instantaneous power tensor theory. Maestría
