Presentation Graphics Software, Evaluation, Desktop video, Adobe Systems Inc. -- Product information, AT&T Graphics Software Labs -- Product information, Digital Video Application Corp. -- Product information, Mathematica Inc. -- Product information, Adobe Premiere (Desktop video software), VideoShop (Desktop video software), Tempra Show (Presentation software), Panorama (Desktop video software), and Presentation software -- Evaluation
Four video-presentation software packages are reviewed. The programs use either digital or analog technology; Apple's QuickTime multimedia system extensions provide a foundation for digital video and are used by Adobe Systems Inc's Adobe Premiere and Diva's Diva VideoShop, while Mathematica's Tempra Show and AT&T Graphics Software Labs' Panorama are analog-based packages for IBM-compatible microcomputers. Premiere is recommended for editing QuickTime, while Tempra Show is the better of the two DOS packages. Premiere costs $495 and Diva VideoShop sells for $599. Tempra Show retails for $199.
