Telecommunications services industry -- Management and Telecommunications services industry -- Market share
Local exchange carriers (LECs) are currently undergoing a difficult period. Restrictive regulations and privatization of progressive communication systems barred to them are reducing the market share and profit margin of LECs. Under the present circumstances, LECs have very little chance of moving forward and are being pushed back by economic constraints. LEC may be reduced to wire-based transport companies for residential clients and this would mean communication services will cost more in the long run.
