This article presents information on dangers hovering over a collection of music by Russian composer Dmitri Shostakovich. The collection includes around 50,000 handwritten pages of music and manuscripts and 1500 hours of unique audio and video recordings. The collection is stored in a decrepit six-bedroom apartment in downtown Tallinn, Estonia under the protection of Mark Matsov. According to Matsov, the entire archive might have to go in the coming fall due to the rent-market dynamics.
