Supporting the decision-making in unstructured problems, such as tasks related to developing a competitiveness strategy, is difficult and inefficient without access to expert knowledge. However, not all companies, for example SMEs, have the ability to use their resources. There is a need to replace the experience and skills of experts by knowledge obtained through the analysis of data from the company and its environment. This data is usually incomplete and inaccurate, which affects the precision of decisions made. The methods of developing competitiveness strategies that are known from literature do not use available data mining techniques or fuzzy inference techniques taking into account the uncertainty of data. The proposed method, which integrates the above techniques, is an attractive alternative to the use of qualitative or qualitative-quantitative methods. The verification of the method was carried out on a group of SMEs providing medical services. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The article presents operational controlling tools implemented in the GDS FALCO consulting and training services enterprise. The tools are one of primary effects of the work of the author, acting as Highly Qualified Personnel for the EU-financed "Region Open to Innovations" project. The project involved the application of the following research methods: case study, analysis of documentation, free-form interview and Ms Excel prototyping. The operational controlling tools described in the paper involve four integrated modules: agreement recording module with the project profitability assessment at the level of contribution margin factoring in variable costs, fixed expenditure planning and recording module, cash-flow forecasting module and the reporting module for multidimensional revenues and profitability analysis. The article demonstrates the results of the first stage of the work of the author, employed as Highly Qualified Personnel, as part of the "Region Open to Innovations" Project financed by the European Union. The aim of the EU-financed project has been to develop the operational controlling designing and implementation methodology addressed to smalland medium-sized consulting and training services enterprises. The first stage of the project work covered diagnosing the operational controlling information needs in the consulting and training services enterprise. The study applied the following methods: case study, analysis of documentation, free-form interview and Ms Excel prototyping. The information needs diagnosed for the consulting and training services enterprise include a multidimensional analyses of the structure of revenues and profitability as well as cash flow planning and ongoing cash-flow monitoring and a possibility of project profitability evaluation in terms of contribution margin, factoring in the direct costs of the project. Customer Knowledge Management is a management concept based on the use of customer knowledge considered in many dimensions, i.e. knowledge of customers, from and to customers, and knowledge co-developed with customers. The basic principle of CKM is to focus the management activities on the company’s cooperation with the customer, and the specific area of this cooperation is the creation of innovation. CKM determined directions of flow of knowledge about customers and gathered from the customers are associated with the stages of the process of creating innovation, i.e. the step of generating ideas, experimentation, prototyping, and product testing. Demand driven innovation models, in particular User Driven Innovation and Design Thinking, play a crucial role in this process which is an important support for CKM. The article is conceptual, showing the CKM model in the innovation creation process, emphasising that its effective application requires fundamental changes in the business model of the company to integrate the customer perspective with the processes of stimulating enterprise innovation. This paper concerns the problem of intellectual property law in the context of 3D printing technology, that becomes more popular. In the age of universal digital communication and constant growth of importance of digital information goods, intellectual property is becoming a cause of dispute between different social groups. This is partly because of the impact of informal institutions formed during development of the Internet and social movements postulating free access to information (including the digital information goods). Other important issue is also the problem of public copyright infringement in order to achieve private benefits. Conlicts concerning enforcement of the intellectual property right are related to substantially all of the digitized content: written word, music, movies and software. On one hand the decrease of the costs of copying equipment, allows an average consumer to buy such a printer. On the other hand the increase of the Internet bandwidth makes this phenomenon more significant. 3D printing technology is the next stage of self-production process. This technology goes beyond the abstract world of information to a real world of physical goods. Thus, the violation of property rights refers now not only to information goods, but also to physical products. The authors put the thesis that the development of 3D printing technology will intensify the conflicts and will increase the number of abuses in area of intellectual property law. In this article the authors discuss the development of 3D printing technology, which originally was connected only with so-called rapid prototyping in the product development process. However, with cheaper equipment, this technology became available to a larger number of users who have used it to make the final products. This process was simultaneous to research projects conducted by academic institutions such as RepRap and Fab@Home. The main goal of RepRap project was to create self-replicating machine. The RepRap 3D printer allows to print more 3D printing devices. This project is regulated by copyleft licenses allowing to manipulate within the files with a legal authors permission. Extending the relections on copyright issue the authors focused on the licenses that allow to share the projects files required for the creation of physical objects. Copyleft licenses are sometimes given illegally. Some of the project iles contain elements that are under copyright restriction. This situation was discovered during the analysis of the content shared between users of 3D printers portals. This situation creates a great threat to the enterprises engaged in luxury goods because in this business the main value is the idea -- the design. Easy replication provided by 3D printing technology enforces more effective copyright regulations or even modification of the form of distribution of items protected by law. The development of 3D printing technology will inevitably increase the number of conflicts and abuses in the field of intellectual property law, forcing changes in the business strategies of their respective owners. Medical model is a material model of human body part, used for better visualization or surgery planning. It may be produced by Rapid Prototyping method, based on data obtained during medical imaging (computer tomography--CT, magnetic resonance--MR). Important problem is to provide proper spatial accuracy of the model, influenced by imaging accuracy of CT and MR scanners. The aim of the study is the accuracy analysis of CT imaging for medical modeling purposes on the example of Siemens Sensation 10 scanner. Using stereolithography technique a physical pattern--phantom in the form of grating was produced. The phantom was measured by a Coordinate Measuring Machine Leitz PMM 12106 to consider production process inaccuracy. Then the phantom was examined using CT scanner Siemens Sensation 10. Phantom measurement error distribution was determined, based on the data obtained. Maximal measurement error, considering both phantom production inaccuracy and CT imaging inaccuracy was +/- 0.87 mm, while considering only CT imaging inaccuracy was not exceeding 0.28 mm. CT acquisition process is by itself the source of measurement errors. So to provide high quality of medical models produced by Rapid Prototyping methods, it is necessary to perform accuracy measurements for every CT scanner used for obtaing data serving as the base for model production.

The main goal of this article is to present some results of research conducted within the project NN115403940 funded by the National Science Centre. Conducted research focuses on proposed methodology for planning temporary production networks of small and medium-sized enterprises operating in the industrial clusters and its computer implementation. The article underlines benefits of cluster functioning as well as benefits of enterprises functioning within clusters. An outline of the methodology of planning joint production ventures through the use of the production capacity of enterprises and the computer implementation are presented. The proposed planning methodology allows the acceptable variants of networks which are formed to timely realize of new manufacturing ventures in conditions of cost, resource and logistic constraints of cluster to be determined. The proposed solution enables to increase the level of production resources using of cluster enterprises, to gain new markets and increase the flexibility and competitiveness of enterprises and cluster as a whole.
