COMMERCIAL products, INDUSTRIAL research, PRODUCT lines, RAPID prototyping, and TUBES
The article presents information on the company MB Tubex Ltd. and Graham Hurlstone, former Tubex managing director. The company is working from premises in Colliers Wood, Southwest London when Graham Hurlstone joined in 1976, Hurlstone set about introducing innovative new product lines including emergency flare launching tubes and site level tubes which show kettle water levels. Perhaps most bizarrely, Hurlstone brought to a waiting world convoluted novelty cocktail glasses made out of plastic and with the stem of the glass forming the straw. Anyone who had teenage children in the late 1970s will remember this impossible-to-wash item being filled with enough brightly-colored sugary drinks to keep a team of dentists working for months.
