Outboard Marine Corp. (OMC) has used Ren Shape polyethylene modeling, board and epoxy laminating systems from Ciba Specialty Chemicals Performance Polymers. OMC has utilized the Ren Shape systems to swiftly produce high-quality marine-vessel parts prototypes for concept verification, testing, fit and function, and engineering evaluation, according to OMC prototype team coordinator Richard Brnot. OMC technicians now machine the master shape of single propeller blade from Ciba's Ren Shape 5168 board, which serves as a fixture and a mold.
