WEB development, INFORMATION architecture, KNOWLEDGE management, INTERNET programming, and INFORMATION science
Creating a new web site requires prior work on information architecture and usability, leading to a series of deliverables: requirements specifications, blueprints (box and arrow diagrams), wireframes (graphic and conceptual site representation sometimes serving as mock-ups), as well as user tests and prototyping. This article provides a case study of the creation process of a web site from the perspective of the information architect, The site is dynamic (involving web programming and the use of a relational database) and had to meet standards of excellence regarding findability and user experience.
