There is a significant amount of prototyping creativity and support techniques that have been successfully applied in the industry. However, the lack of empirical evidence about its use in educational systems motivates the present work, whose main objective is to disseminate the results of a teaching innovation experience for the consolidation of a R & D & I culture, through which the preferences of the use of the techniques of creativity in pre-university groups were evaluated, integrated by students, teachers and external consultant. For this, a sample of 60 groups were taken that developed 60 projects of innovation in different lines and analog models for the management of technological innovation, evaluating the frequency of use and combination of techniques. The results of the experiment show differences, of use in relation to the management model and the development line selected by the groups. Likewise, it was observed that the most used creativity techniques were brainstorming and Phillips 66, while for prototyping, were TRIZ and QFD for tangible prototypes and Design Thinking and Agile Methodology for service prototype.
