The article informs that a prototyping and development platform for reconfigurable computing on FPGAs has been released by Celoxica Ltd.. The RC250 board comes with design software intellectual property and APIs for connecting to higher level control, such as a PC. At the core of the board is a nine million gate Altera Stratix II FPGA. This connects directly to zero latency SRAM and double data rate DRAM. With target applications such as video in mind, the board has support for analogue and digital I/O, and dual CMOS camera connectors.

Celoxica Ltd. has two Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA)-based evaluation and prototyping boards—the RC300 and RC2000Pro—aimed at designers of image processing and data streaming applications. The RC300 contains a six million gate Xilinx Virtex II FPGA and has direct access to four banks of ZBT SRAM and a DIMM socket for customer-provided DRAM. These devices integrate PowerPC processors, and the boards are for high end image processing, said the supplier. Software includes a platform abstraction layer and data stream manager support for the Celoxica DK Design Suite.

Reconfigurable logic firm Celoxica Ltd. has agreed to distribute the JTAG test system from Great Britain-based firm XJTAG. The system can test both JTAG and non-JTAG devices on a circuit board. Celoxica Ltd. said the tools complement its design software for field programmable logic arrays, providing a test system for its prototyping boards and customers own circuit boards.
