INDUSTRIAL research, RAPID prototyping, PROTOTYPES, and ELECTRONIC systems
The article presents the findings of a study on the accuracy of three-dimensional printing and desktop modeling systems conducted by engineer Todd Grimm. The study investigated the dimensional accuracy of Z Corp.'s ZPrinter 310, 3D Systems Corp.s' InVisionSR, and Stratasys Inc.'s Dimension SST. The study showed that the Dimension machine was the best performing prototype among the three systems tested. The study also proved that the resolution does not directly equate to dimensional accuracy.
