RAPID prototyping and UNIVERSITIES & colleges
Reports on the complaints filed by the organization, Committee of Independent Rapid Prototyping Service Providers against universities in Great Britain for undercutting the prices of rapid prototyping services. Competitive imbalance caused by the government-assisted prototyping services provided by the universities.
The article offers the author's insights on the advantages and disadvantages of additive manufacturing (AM). Topics discussed include the application of AM in prototyping, the use of computer-aided design (CAD) software in AM, and the use of its attributes in solving manufacturing and engineering challenges.

RAPID prototyping, BLUETONGUE virus, VIRUS inhibitors, and ANTIVIRAL agents
The article reports that the engineers at the University of Warwick have created a three-dimensional (3D) model of Bluetongue cattle virus using rapid prototyping in England. The model virus is 5,200,000 times the size of the real thing and was created using data from the Institute of Animal Health. It is hoped that the model will help in the development of anti-viral drugs.

RAPID prototyping, PROTOTYPES, MANUFACTURING processes, and THREE-manifolds (Topology)
The article reports on developments in the rapid prototyping sector of the design engineering and manufacturing industry. It relates that the robust activity in the rapid prototyping sector is propelled by the development of modern technological innovations in three-dimensional (3D)printers. Moreover, Cadventure Ltd. Senior consultant Stefan Ponur relates that more engineers are getting into the use of 3D modelling in processing their designs because it has become affordable.
