- Federal Reserve Governor Laurence H. Meyer testified before the House Subcommittee on Financial Institutions on the regulatory relief bill and Governor Edward M. Gramlich spoke on Truth in Lending Act and other reforms. Alan Greenspan, chmn of the Federal Reserve Board, presented the midyear monetary policy report to the Senate Committee on Banking. He also addressed the issue of regulation of the over-the-counter derivatives market.
