Abstract
Abstract:
Federal Reserve Board Chairman Alan Greenspan appeared before the Joint Economic Committee to discuss the state of the U.S. economy in 1997. Greenspan reports on favorable economic conditions with low inflation in 1997. The U.S. economic expansion has had a relatively long history of seven years. Forecasts for inflation remain uncertain, but increased competition in most industries is hoped to keep price growth low.
