Inspired by Goethe's novella, the film takes a sympathetic look at a group of thirteen year-old schoolchildren who are shattered by a classmate's suicide. The best friend of the dead youngster is Ismaël, who tries desperately to understand the cause of his friend's untimely death. Was it drugs? Unrequted love for his pretty neighbour Miren? Or was it the fault of the hated chemistry teacher who had once humiliated the child? Ismaël and friends set out to discover the truth and "punish" the responsible party, first forming a "commando unit" to exact their revenge on the teacher and then going "undercover" to establish Miren's part in the tragedy. But teenage emotions run wild; soon love, anger and betrayal come into play, causing yet more pain to already tender hearts.

Stein founded his own theater for three years to produce Faust I & II. Performed over 20 hours, Faust I & II was performed at the Hannover Expo in 2000.
