"Organic materials database (OMDB) is created and maintained by the research group at Nordita (Stockholm, Sweden) as a part of the research on Dirac materials. OMDB focus is on electronic structure, density of states and other properties for purely organic and organometallic compounds that are known to date. The electronic band structures are calculated using density functional theory for the 6686 crystal structures contained in the Crystallography Open Database. This database is a tool to be used in guided materials search and discovery. OMDB web interface allows for identifying materials with certain target band structure properties specified by the user."

American Fiction, 1774–1920 encompasses prose fiction written by Americans from colonial times to the early twentieth century. The titles to the year 1900, which are available as of March 2016, include nearly all of the works found in Lyle H. Wright's three-volume American Fiction: A Contribution Toward a Bibliography, which is widely considered the most comprehensive bibliography of American adult prose fiction of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The collection includes novels, short stories, romances, fictitious biographies, travel accounts and sketches, allegories, and tract-like tales typifying the development of American literature in a changing culture. Titles published between 1901 and 1920 will be released to the collection by July 2016. Books published in the years 1901-1910 are sourced from the Library of Congress Shelf List of American Adult Fiction. The period 1911-1920 is built on the Geoffrey D. Smith bibliography, which is sourced from the William Charvat Collection of American Fiction at The Ohio State University Libraries. When completed, the entire archive will consist of about 17,750 titles, or 4.7 million fully searchable pages.

Research data is the foundation on which scientific, technical and medical knowledge is built. Oftentimes data sets do not leave the lab, or may go unnoticed as supplementary files. Elsevier provides solutions that support researchers to store, share, discover and use this data. By doing so authors are able to receive credit for the full spectrum of their work, and the wider research community benefits from the ability to discover and reuse the data. They are indexing images, tables and supplementary data from (Elsevier or Open Access) content sources, and are considering these to be research data components. They also index a series of domain-specific repositories, as well as non-domain specific ones.

Brockelmann's History of the Arabic Written Tradition offers bio-bibliographic information about works written in Arabic and their authors, with an emphasis on manuscripts from the classical period. This 5-volume reference work is divided in chronologically organized sections, which are subdivided by literary genre. Individual entries typically consist of a biographical section and a list of the author's works in manuscript and print, with references to secondary literature. The "Brockelmann" , now also available in English, is an indispensible research tool for anyone working on the Islamic world in general and the Middle East in particular.
