Recordings of Noumi Fischer as both performer and teacher. Many of the recordings are poorly marked. Notable recordings however include a series of classes given by Fischer in the early 1990s, which document his teaching style in detail; student concerts Fischer was involved in; performances held at Mission San Juan Capistrano; and a video of Fischer from 1993. Broadly speaking the instantaneous discs in the collection feature Fischer as performer, while the audiocassettes document his activities as a teacher. Also included in the collection are concert programs, correspondence, photographs, and other documentation.

From the liner notes: “These are some of the Irish song which Russell Varian sang at many early Varian parties, and elsewhere for his friends. These are some of the songs he had learned from his father, who was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland. The songs were recorded by Ed Ginzton in New York in 1943. The words were supplied by Dorothy Varian in 1962.”
