"Items in Analytical Abstracts fall into three main categories: Journal articles, technical reports, and books. More than 250 key international journals are scanned regularly by the Analytical Abstracts editorial team. Over 75% of the original material is published in English, with other major languages being French and German, Russian and other eastern European languages, Chinese, and Japanese. Abstracting from non-English-language sources is performed by a panel of chemists with language skills. A small number of other secondary sources are scanned, in order to find items published in more obscure journals or in the non-chemistry literature, for example, environmental, pharmaceutical or geological publications." Inclusive dates: 1980-present.

The Canadian Patent Database contains over 2.2 million patent documents from 1869 to the present. This database is updated regularly with newly granted patents and applications opened to public inspection. Searches are performed against the bibliographic and text data fields only, and a "hit list" of matching patents is returned. Images are not searchable but can be viewed for any particular patent that has been returned in a hit list. The text of the abstracts and claims is not available for patents that were granted prior to August 15, 1978. These patents can only be searched by their patent number, titles, owner, inventor, or classification. Note about completeness of the Date Fields: The issue date is searchable from 1869 to the last updated date. The filing date is not available for patents registered prior to August 15, 1978. The priority date and the national entry date are not available for patents registered prior to October 1, 1989.

Research data is the foundation on which scientific, technical and medical knowledge is built. Oftentimes data sets do not leave the lab, or may go unnoticed as supplementary files. Elsevier provides solutions that support researchers to store, share, discover and use this data. By doing so authors are able to receive credit for the full spectrum of their work, and the wider research community benefits from the ability to discover and reuse the data. They are indexing images, tables and supplementary data from (Elsevier or Open Access) content sources, and are considering these to be research data components. They also index a series of domain-specific repositories, as well as non-domain specific ones.

An independent, nonprofit organization, EPRI conducts research and development relating to the generation, delivery and use of electricity. They address challenges in electricity, including reliability, efficiency, health, safety and the environment. They also provide technology, policy and economic analyses to drive long-range research and development planning, and support research in emerging technologies. EPRI's Search tool is the easiest way to find reports and software and is located at the top right corner of every page. Enter a keyword, multiple keywords or a Product ID and click the Search button to obtain your results. While all of EPRI's research ultimately becomes publically available, many products may be initially limited to members due to their potential impacts on business decisions. Non-members may download any document that displays an active download button. A grayed-out download button indicates that the document is not available for download, either because there is a cost associated with the document or the product is not deliverable online. If you are interested in purchasing a research report, the non-member price can be found on the Abstract. Access the Abstract by clicking on the report title.

Espacenet's worldwide database enables you to search for information about published patent applications from over 90 different countries and regions. Espacenet offers free access to more than 70 million patent documents worldwide--most of them patent applications rather than granted patents--from 1836 today. Patent applications normally represent the first publication of a new idea, appearing ahead of journal articles and before new products reach the market. Other information includes: patent family information, telling you if similar patents have been claimed in other countries; legal status information, helping you find out whether and in what countries a patent is in force; references to other kinds of technical literature (non-patent literature); citing documents (other documents that have cited the document you are looking at); and links to the European Patent Register for European and Euro-PCT documents. It is possible to print and download documents.

As a result of cooperative effort between the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) of the People's Republic of China, Chinese patent documentation is now available for search and retrieval from the USPTO website via the Global Patent Search Network. This tool will enable the user to search Chinese patent documents in the English or Chinese language. The data available include fulltext Chinese patents and machine translations. Also available are full document images of Chinese patents which are considered the authoritative Chinese patent document. Users can search documents including published applications, granted patents and utility models from 1985 to 2012. This collection will be periodically updated to include additional years of coverage.
