Biology; Physics and Astronomy; Mathematical Sciences; Science (General); Engineering; Medicine; Toxicology and Chemical Safety; MARCUnit/15 March 2018/GDG
The Protocol Exchange is an open resource where the community of scientists pool their experimental know-how to help accelerate research. The Protocol Exchange strives to facilitate rapid and unencumbered distribution of protocols for scientific research. We welcome Protocols from any branch of science however we focus particularly on Protocols being used to answer outstanding biological and biomedical science research questions, which includes methods grounded in physics and chemistry with a practical application to the study of biological problems.
The Protocol Exchange is an Open Repository for the deposition and sharing of protocols for scientific research. These protocols are posted directly on the Protocol Exchange by their authors and hence have not been further styled, peer reviewed or copy edited. Rather they are made freely available to the scientific community for use and comment.

The Publication Site for Issued and Published Sequences (PSIPS) web site provides Sequence Listings, tables, and other mega items for granted US patents or published US patent applications. All sequences (SEQ ID NOs.) and tables for listed patents or publications are available for viewing, without downloading, by accessing the proper document detail page and then submitting a SEQ ID NO or a mega table ID number. At present, this system acts as a storage and retrieval site for Sequence Listings that are at least 300 pages (roughly 600Kb), mega table sections that are at least 200 contiguous pages, and other mega items. The data have been included in either a granted US patent or a published US patent application. Shorter Sequence Listings and tables are accessible via Patents-, and Applications-, on-the-Web home pages. Using PSIPS, you can view or download individual sequences or tables, or you can download the entire Sequence Listing, mega table section, or other mega item. Mega information is stored and retrieved via PSIPS because it is too large to publish elsewhere. The data are placed on a separate system because inclusion in the image and text files of the systems underlying EAST, WEST, PatFT, and AppFT, would impair system performance. Mega Sequence Listings have been stored in PSIPS since February 2001 and mega tables since January 2007.

A compendium of data extracted from the scientific literature. For each chemical substance indexed in RTECS, six types of toxicity data are included: (1) primary irritation; (2) mutagenic effects; (3) reproductive effects; (4) tumorigenic effects; (5) acute toxicity; and (6) other multiple dose toxicity. Specific numeric toxicity values such as LD50, LC50, TDLo, and TCLo are noted as well as species studied and route of administration used. For each citation, the bibliographic source is listed thereby enabling the user to access the actual studies cited.

Relibase is a web-based system for searching and analyzing protein-ligand structures in the Protein Data Bank (PDB). Data mining is the first step of every structural biology project. Relibase provides an easily accessible web-browser interface and clear 3D structure visualization. Use Relibase to explore structures using text, 2D substructure, SMILES and SMARTS searches. 3D protein-ligand interaction searches can be easily performed using the integrated sketcher allowing you to understand and assess the interactions that are important to molecular recognition in protein-ligand systems. Sophisticated automatic superimposition and detailed analysis of related binding sites allow you to identify protein flexibility, ligand overlap, and conserved water positions. Relibase features comprehensive coverage of the PDB and is regularly updates with newly deposited structures. Each structure uploaded to Relibase undergoes extensive validation and processing including the accurate assignment of ligand atom and bond types, generation of ligand diagrams and comprehensive secondary structure assignments.

SciELO (Scientific Electronic Library Online) is a database index of about 650 open access journals covering research in Latin America, Spain, Portugal, the Caribbean and South Africa. Subjects covered include: Agricultural sciences; Applied social science; Biological sciences; Engineering; Exact and earth sciences; Health sciences; Linguistics, letters and arts; Mathematics; Physics; and Social sciences. SciELO is a program of the Sao Paulo Research Foundation for the cooperative publishing of open access journals on the internet. Updated weekly, covers 1997 to present.
The objective of the site is to implement an electronic virtual library, providing full access to a collection of serial titles, a collection of issues from individual serial titles, as well as to the full text of articles. The access to both serial titles and articles is available via indexes and search forms. SciELO interface provides access to its serials collection via an alphabetic list of titles or a subject index or a search by word of serial titles, publisher names, city of publication and subject. The interface also provides access to the full text of articles via author index or subject index or a search form on article elements such as author names, words from title, subject and words from the full text.
