This collection primarily contains maps of the Second South African War (a.k.a the Anglo-Boer War), 1899 - 1902, between the British government and the Boer Republic. Most of the maps were created by the Field Intelligence Department of the Army in Great Britain. Scanning of the collection took place at the University of Cape Town with funding from the The William and Yvonne Jacobson Digital Africana Program at University of Cape Town (UCT).

This collection details Alcoa, Inc and the research conducted using rich data about a cohort of ~230,000 workers employed in the manufacturing industry. Research to date has aimed to understand determinants of disease, death and disability as well as work-life patterns in the manufacturing sector. The material archived here is intended to provide researchers, policy makers, industry professionals and others (a) context around Alcoa in relation to occupational health and social science research questions, and (b) access to research conducted to date, including those projects currently in progress.

Accessions received in 1998, 1999, 2002 and 2004 totaling some 154 linear feet have not yet been processed.
Accession 2011-038, .25 linear foot, includes letters from Alan Ansen, Charles Bukowski, Robert Creeley, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Louis Ginsberg, John Holmes, Norman Mailer, Michael McClure, Kate Orlovsky, Kenneth Rexroth, Gary Snyder, Anne Waldman, Philip Whalen, and others. Also included is "A commonplace book," a bound manuscript notebook by Ginsberg, 1946.
