Search to find response information for thousands of hazardous materials, including fire and explosion hazards, health hazards, firefighting techniques, cleanup procedures, protective clothing, and chemical properties. Use "My Chemicals" to build a list of chemicals. For example, substances involved in an incident response (such as a train derailment) or chemicals stored in your community. Explore reactivity, see what hazards might occur if chemicals in your MyChemicals collection are mixed together. CAMEO Chemicals is a tool designed for people who are involved in hazardous material incident response and planning. This tool is part of the CAMEO software suite, and it is available as a website, mobile website, and as a downloadable version that you can run on your own computer. CAMEO Chemicals contains: A library with thousands of datasheets containing response-related information and recommendations for hazardous materials that are commonly transported, used, or stored in the United States. A reactivity prediction tool, which you can use to predict potential reactive hazards between chemicals. CAMEO Chemicals was developed by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Office of Response and Restoration in partnership with the Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Emergency Management and the U.S. Coast Guard's Research and Development Center."-- (source: http://cameochemicals.noaa.gov/help/cameo_chemicals_help.htm)

The FTSS Recherche database, provided by the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS), contains French language material safety data sheets for chemical substances manufactured or distributed in North America. The English language database, MSDS, also provided by CCOHS, contains a larger collection of material safety data sheets.

"The ICSCs project is an undertaking of the International Programme on Chemical Safety (IPCS). The project is being developed in the context of the cooperation between the IPCS and the Commission of the European Communities. The IPCS is a joint activity of three cooperating International Organizations: namely the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the International Labour Office (ILO) and the World Health Organization (WHO). The main objective of the IPCS is to carry out and disseminate evaluations of the hazards posed by chemicals to human health and the environment."--Descriptive note.

"The nearly 3,000 publications by the Permanent Senate Commission for the Investigation of Health Hazards of Chemical Compounds in the Work Area (MAK-Commission) provide essential information on hazardous compounds at the workplace. Threshold values and classifications for more than 1,000 substances are given, along with toxicological evaluations and recommended monitoring methods. The MAK-Collection is regularly updated with new information." - (Publisher's website)

1 online resource.
Safety data sheets (SDSs, formerly known as material safety data sheets or MSDSs) are provided by chemical manufacturers and vendors for each hazardous chemical to communicate information on specific chemical health and safety hazards. For convenience, current students, faculty, and staff at Stanford have access to MSDSonline, a comprehensive library of electronic SDSs.

Access to the worldwide ccupational health and safety literature. Consists of 3 databases: 1) NIOSHTIC with OSHLINE has over 212,000 references. It provides comprehensive coverage of international research literature with an emphasis on U.S. published literature. NIOSHTIC was created by NIOSH to support its own activities in research, engineering, and education. It covers diverse disciplines including toxicology, behavioral science, engineering, occupational hygiene, medicine, nursing and safety. OSHLINEâ¿¿ continues the coverage of NIOSHTIC indexing the journal literature from mid-1998 to the present. It includes detailed summaries of English language articles from over 190 peer-reviewed scientific journals, as well as research reports and conference papers; 2) HSELINE has over 175,000 citations with abstracts. It provides coverage subject areas such as: Engineering, Manufacturing, Agriculture, Mining, Hazardous Substances, Occupational Hygiene, Railway, Offshore Safety, Nuclear Technology, Industrial Air Pollution, Welding, Construction and Robotics; 3) CISILO (English)has over 51,000 references which represents international health and safety literature and contains legislation from all member countries of its network. It also emphasizes training and policy materials.
