Resulting from a critical evaluation of the published literature, the database contains over 22,000 line positions, chemical shifts, doublet splittings, and energy separations of photoelectron and Auger-electron lines. A highly interactive program allows the user to search by element, line type, line energy, and many other variables. Users can easily identify unknown measured lines by matching to previous measurements. Version 4.1 which contains an additional 4368 data records for a total of over 33,000 data records. Version 4.1 also contains new reference photoelectron binding energies, reference Auger-electron kinetic energies, and reference Auger parameters for many elemental solids from recent analyses of Handbook data. Wagner plots are now available for 61 elements.

Driven by the vast, yet largely unexplored, potential of bioactive organisms in the ocean and improvements in analytical techniques to facilitate their research, natural products scientists face an increasing need for single-source reference cataloging the current knowledge and state-of-the-science regarding marine natural products. "Dictionary of Marine Natural Products with CD-ROM" presents a comprehensive resource for more than 25,000 known natural products drawn from marine organisms.Following a similar format to the Chapman and Hall Chemical Database, this dictionary indexes each product by chemical name, CAS registry number, and compound type. Documenting all known marine natural products, each entry includes the biological source, chemical structure, physical properties, biological activity, and literature references for each compound. An accompanying CD-ROM is fully text and structure-searchable and enables unique access to this valuable resource. The editors, John Blunt and Murray Munro, both pioneers in the field, also provide an introductory monograph that describes structural compound types and marine organisms. Marine organisms offer a delicate, yet plentiful source for a vast array of novel products whose unique structural features make them suitable drug candidates, pesticides, marine anti-fouling agents, and more. "The Dictionary of Marine Natural Products Web Version" gives researchers a new tool for developing pharmaceutical and chemical applications of marine natural products.

The DOC database contains nearly 99,000 entries comprising more than 292,000 organic compounds. It includes the following compounds: the basic fundamental organic compounds of simple structure, compounds of industrial or commercial value including currently important pharmaceuticals, pesticides, monomers, etc., Compounds frequently encountered in the laboratory as solvents, reagents or starting materials, a limited selection of the most important and well-documented natural products, important biochemicals, other compounds of particular interest because of their chemical, structural or biological properties, including many newly synthesised compounds of active research interest. DOC also covers the principal organic compounds of Se, Te, As, Sb and Bi. There is also selective coverage of organo-B and organo-Si compounds, especially those of importance in synthetic organic chemistry. DOC does not in general document isotopically labelled variants except for a few isotopically labelled drug variants used in chemotherapy or tracer work.

The ChemExper Chemical Directory displays information about chemicals (physical and chemical characteristics, structure, MSDS and more.) It contains for now over 200,000 different chemicals, 10,000 MSDS and over 10,000 IR spectra. The directory can be searched by registry number, molecular formula, chemical name or synonyms in different languages as well as by physical and chemical characteristics and combinations of those data, and also may also be searched by substructure. This web site also includes the Chemical Calculator, which calculates the molecular formula, molecular mass, exact mass, elemental analysis and plots the isotopic distribution graph; enter molecular formula, atoms, isotopes as well as groups; and the OSIRIS Property Explorer, which lets you draw chemical structures and calculates on-the-fly various drug-relevant properties whenever a structure is valid. Prediction results are valued and color coded. Properties with high risks of undesired effects like mutagenicity or a poor intestinal absorption are shown in red whereas a green color indicates drug-conform behaviour.
