Map showing street railway lines in San Francisco. Text on verso gives reasons for voting yes on Proposition 24 in the General Election of 6 November 1928. The Proposition, entitled "Street Railway Franchises, Proposal permitting surrender of privately owned street car franchises for operating permit that may be cancelled by vote of the people", proposed amending the city charter to grant extensions to the franchiser to operate the lines. This was to avoid disruptions or cessations of service. Eventually the City would buy the private lines as franchises expired.
