- Catelain, Jaque, 1897-1965, former owner.
- Description
- Archive/Manuscript — 1 photograph album
- Summary
-
Album (28 cm), with 50 original mounted photographs, mostly production stills from the French film "L'Occident" (shot in 1927 and released in 1928), directed by Henri Fescourt. The film was mostly set in Morocco and was largely shot on location there. Included in the photographs are scenes of the film's stars, Jaque Catelain and Clauda Victrix, as well as scenes with extras from the Chleuh Berber tribe. The album includes 23 photographs depicting battle scenes involving Moroccan tribesmen plus six other photographs taken in the country. Catelain has also included eight photographs from a totally different (presently unknown) European costume drama at the end of the album.
