Born in Częstochowa in 1882, Huberman was a Polish Jewish violinist, one of greatest virtuosos of the first half of the 20th century. The film is also about Huberman the politician, social activist, writer, teacher, sponsor of the arts, philanthropist and citizen of the world. In 1936, Huberman founded the Palestine Orchestra known today as The Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. He provided 75 Jewish musicians with immigration documents and financed their move to Palestine, effectively saving them from certain death at the hands of the Nazis.
