Site for the ruling party PAIGC's 2009 presidential candidate, Malam Bacai Sanha. He won 39.6 percent of the vote in the June 28, 2009 first round Guinea-Bissau presidential election. A run-off vote was held July 26, 2009 between Sanha and Kumba Yala (or Kumba Ialá or Mohamed K. Yalá), leader of the opposition party Partido da Renovação Social (PRS). Sanha defeated Kumba Yala. President Malam Bacai Sanha died in January 2012 in a hospital in Paris.
