The Archive of Recorded Sound's Cylinder Collection consist of over 2,000 phonographic cylinder recordings from a variety of donors, created between 1888 and 1929. Cylinder brand names include Columbia, Cylindres Pathé, Dr. Rosenthal's Original Language, Edison, Everlasting Grand Opera, Indestructible, Lakeside, and Oxford Indestructable. Music genres include classical, popular, humorous, spiritual, patriotic, jazz, and more. The Archive maintains a comprehensive off-line database of the collection.
