Documentary based on research of Philip Vazquez Palacios and his team in the state of Veracruz brings us closer to the daily lives of whom society considers "old". The testimonies of these men and women teach us that aging is a construction linking biology with working life, family and social and material and spiritual possibilities. Growing old in Mexico results in hardship and social dropouts, especially for the vast majority of poor, and goes hand in hand with changes in cultural patterns where respect and prestige of the old are in retreat.
