A visual record of U.S. Marine and island life during the interwar years on Guam in 1930. The album consists of numerous scenes on the island, including images of Piti, Apra Harbor, several beaches, various beach structures, town architecture and infrastructure, animal life and jungle settings. Several of the images of native islanders and portraits of Marines and other Americans are present as well. The majority of photographs depict life for the U.S. Marines, and detail their activities, such as military exercises, parades, artillery practice, and camping expeditions. They also show the Marine facilities, such as the barracks and other military structures, as well as a number of military vehicles, naval transports and Marine aircraft. Disbound oblong quarto album of 158 black and white photographs mounted on 25 leaves. The images are largely unidentified, but the things and locations depicted suggest it was compiled by a United States Marine, one of the Legation Guards in Peking, in the 1920s. One of the larger images depicts the Horse Marines, a mounted Marine unit, the only such Marine unit in China was stationed in Peking. The compiler was likely a member of the Marine Band, there are a number of images depicting the band and its members, posed both formally and informally. One image is identified on the negative as “Pay Day Peking 6/1/21”. Two individuals in another image are identified as H. L. Palmer and C. Dwight. There is an image identified as “Wireless tower Pekin”. The images depict encampment life, Marines on duty and off, drilling on the parade grounds in the compound, target practice, playing basketball with Chinese men, views of Peking and surrounding sites, scenes of street life in Peking, including an execution in the street, and more.

Oblong leather-bound folio album (with string-tie binding). The album consists of 244 photographs (all tipped in) of various sizes and origins, but most of the photographs (at least 200) were taken by Williams or his colleagues during their time stationed in Shanghai. Photographs show Marines in the city, natives therein, street scenes, rural scenes, views in temples, Marines marching and in casual situations. Also contains nine photographs captioned in the photos (commercial photos) documenting public beheadings, captured rebels, police action; five hand-colored landscape views; and 17 panoramic views of countryside, the Great Wall, temples, and more. Some captions written in ink.

A photograph album bound in leather created by a member of the United States Marine Corps sometime during the US occupation of Haiti, between 1915 and 1934. The album contains a few photos of military activities, such as camps, a ship, the :first plane and avaitors in San Domingo", a shooting range, and captured "bandits," as well as photos of the countryside, people, and sights of Haiti and Hispaniola as a whole. Captions are written on most of the images.
