The exhibition includes 250 unpublished photographs taken between 1969 /1970 period when the artist lived in New York, he dedicated hImself to the study of sculpture and painting. In them we can see the photographer looking for unusual angles, made in the apartments where he lived on the streets, at stations and inside subway cars. Many of them were made from windows, seeking a series of discoveries, nothing mental, with plans and sections performed at random, which means that the set becomes even more provocative in describing movements transiting between an inner world and another outside. Also displayed 45 images in black and white icons on the artist's work, which originally formed part of the series The Neutral Fund and Its Characters conducted between 1980 to 1999 and were the starting point for the book the Eternal Now. According to Diogenes Moura, curator of the show, "Butterflies and Zebras is not just an exhibition, a book. It is an experiment on time, on target, about love, about life, about death and about how they can go to the last well beyond."

  • Andar por São Paulo faz com que São Paulo tambem ande em nós / Tadeu Chiarelli

  • Obras
  • Listas de obras.
Tadeu Chiarelli, curator of the exhibition, the last of his management, will bring together works (recent or not) of artists whose works manifest peculiarities of living in the city of São Paulo. "São Paulo is the synthesis of all the cities of the continent, displaying its obstinate and excessive contrasts, the feeling to live in eternal longing for a reality less bitter and of more solidarity. To live in São Paulo is being in constant displacement, is almost to permanently experience the city in glimpses a fickle bunch, glimpsing order out of chaos, or chaos in chaos". Participating artists include: Sidney Amaral, Dora Longo Bahia, Victor Brecheret, Peter de Brito, Rafael Carneiro, Leda Catunda, Flávio Cerqueira, Lia Chaia, Raphael Escobar, Renata Felinto, Luiz Gê, Carmela Gross, Evandro Carlos Jardim, Jaime Lauriano, Marcelo Moscheta, Zed Nesti, Nazareth Pacheco, Moisés Patrício, Daniel de Paula, Fernando Piola, Florian Raiss, Gustavo Von Ha, Chico Zelesnikar, among other paulistano artists who live or lived in the city.

The Pinacoteca de São Paulo, in addition to changing its name -the institution adopted the surname Pina- opened the first exhibition of Marcelo Zocchio in the Pinacoteca. "Marcelo Zoochio embodies the photographic image by removing it from its volatile and incorporeal character, turning it into reliefs and three-dimensional objects. With works that pass between the photo, and relief sculpture, video, installation and the everyday object, the artist challenges the schematic definitions, which still seek to separate art from photography."
