Publisher's Summary:
This reference provides safety information on approximately 120 solvents in common usage. It takes account of the UK's new Chemical Hazards Information and Packaging (CHIP) Regulations, published August 1993, by using the required new datasheet format (which incorporates an ecotoxicity section) and including the new risk phrases for individual chemicals. The publication is indexed by chemical name and synonym. Every "safety sheet" provides the following information, in two facing pages: name; CAS registry number; synonyms; composition; hazard information; first aid measures; accidental release measures; handling and storage; exposure controls and personal protection; physical and chemical properties; stability and reactivity; toxicological information; ecological information; disposal considerations; transport information; and regulations. The sheets can be used to: identify hazards of chemicals in the work environment; follow essential first aid steps; identify precautions to be taken during use or disposal; find remedial action to be taken in case of accidental release; and gain knowledge of the ecological effects of specific chemicals.
