The ca.gov domain is the 3rd largest domain in the U.S. government web. A great deal of that content is published by the State of California, and represents a rich source of material for researchers, students, the general public and state agencies themselves. This archive preserves access to hundreds of state agency sites that are captured on a regular basis. State agencies utilize their websites to publish everything from press releases, agendas, minutes, events, reports and statistics. This material is especially volatile as leadership changes or as time sensitive issues are no longer on agendas or in the news. This information while not distributed in print still holds immense social and research value, which we as memory institutions have an obligation to collect and preserve. By collecting and preserving this information, the study of issues in California, the world's fourth largest economy, will be greatly enhanced. The archive is maintained by government information specialists across several UC campuses and the Stanford University Libraries with support from the California Digital Library.

"This database is the result of a three-year project (2004-07), funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council and hosted by Cardiff University and the Royal College of Music. It provides descriptions of concert programme collections held by leading libraries, archives and museums in the UK and Ireland, thereby improving access to a vital source of information about musical life from the eighteenth century to the present day. The database is intended as a guide to finding programme collections, rather than providing full details of the content of individual programmes. The institutional coverage is extensive and includes the British Library, the Royal College of Music and the Royal Academy of Music in London, the Bodleian Library, Oxford and the national libraries of Scotland and Ireland, as well as repositories in Aldeburgh, Birmingham, Bradford, Cardiff, Cheltenham, Edinburgh, Leeds and Manchester. A full list of the locations covered by the project can be found by browsing the database by 'Institution'. Each collection of programmes covered by the project has been described and indexed with reference to geographical coverage and concert venues, time periods, subjects, and names of performers, concert venues, ensembles, promoters, and collectors. Users may browse each of these fields by following the links to 'Time', 'People' (both personal and corporate names), 'Place' (concert venues) or 'Subject', or search the entire database using the search box or the advanced search options provided. For a guide to using the database, please follow the link below to the Help page. The project's chief aim was to create an online resource uniting all of the first impressions of Chopin's first editions in an unprecedented virtual collection, thereby providing direct access to musicians and musicologists to some of the most important primary source materials relevant to the composer's music. The c. 5,500 digital images in the CFEO archive were obtained from five lead institutions (Bibliothèque Nationale de France, Bodleian Library, British Library, Narodowy Instytut Fryderyka Chopina and the University of Chicago Library) and seventeen other libraries. The full score of each first impression appears along with commentary on particularly significant textual features. In addition, there are excerpts from the Annotated Catalogue of Chopin's First Editions. Innovative methodologies for complex textual interlinking and web delivery of this material were devised at the Centre for Computing in the Humanities (CCH) using advanced imaging techniques allied with relevant open standards for metadata and interface design.

"Comprehensive Organic Functional Group Transformations II (COFGT-II)" will provide the first point of entry to the literature for all scientists interested in chemical transformations. Presenting the vast subject of organic synthesis in terms of the introduction and interconversion of all known functional groups, "COFGT-II" provides a unique information source documenting all methods of efficiently performing a particular transformation. Organised by the functional group formed, "COFGT-II" consists of 144 specialist reviews, written by leading scientists who evaluate and summarise the methods available for each functional group transformation. Also available online via ScienceDirect featuring extensive browsing, searching, and internal cross-referencing between articles in the work, plus dynamic linking to journal articles and abstract databases, making navigation flexible and easy. By systematically treating each functional group in turn the work also identifies what is not known, thus pointing the way to new research areas. This book follows the systematic layout of the successful 1995 "COFGT" reference work, based on the arrangement and bonding of hetero-atoms around a central carbon atom. The work will save researchers valuable time in their research as each chapter is written by experts who have critically read and reviewed the literature and presented the best methods of forming every known functional group. COFGT-II provides the first point of entry to the literature for all scientists interested in chemical transformations.
