Dolley Payne Madison was the most important First Lady of the nineteenth century. The DMDE will be the first-ever complete edition of all of her known correspondence, gathered in an XML-based archive. It will ultimately include close to 2,500 letters. From the scattered correspondence were gathered letters that have never been previously published. The range and scope of the collection makes this edition an important scholarly contribution to the literature of the early republic, women's history, and the institution of the First Lady. These letters present Dolley Madison's trials and triumphs and make it possible to gain admittance to her mind and her private emotions and to understand the importance of her role as the national capital's First Lady.

Music
Summary:
"Music Dictionary Online's primary purpose is, in the case of non-English words and phrases, to offer translations and, more generally, and where appropriate, to offer explanations and comments about general (non-musical) words as well as specialist (i.e. musical, etc.) terms that might be found in musical scores, libretti, books on music, web sites, CD notes, concert programmes, etc. What distinguishes our dictionary from other dictionaries of musical terms is the inclusion of general words. Our dictionary can be used to assist in the translation of non-musical content (for example, biographical material) in music-related material. The selection of general words and phrases, drawing mainly from the English, German, Italian, French and Spanish languages (a similar range of words in Dutch is to be added later), is such as might be found in any good pocket dictionary. Our selection of specialist terms include words and phrases taken from a large number of related fields including music in all its forms, classical and modern dance, the fine arts, poetry, linguistics, drama, libretti, costume, architecture (useful for set design, etc.), cultural philosophy (including aesthetics), education, musical and cultural history, biography, physics, physiology and psychology (particularly as these relate to sound and music), medical terms (including those relating to disabilities, performance-related injury, illness, etc.), musical instrument making (including design, technology, electronics, etc.), musical instruments, recording, religion, printing and publishing, some notable works and important non-composer figures in music. We have also included terms drawn from the many world music traditions, jazz, rock, pop and related musical genres."

The Public Technical Reports search section (includes The Joint Publications Research Service (JPRS)) is a government organization established in March, 1957 to supply government agencies with translations of unclassified foreign documents, scholarly works, research reports and other selective source material which is not available in English. The Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC®) Technical Reports Collection includes citations to and selected full-text of JPRS reports from 1974 to the present. Users can search the Technical Reports Collection via Public STINET (Scientific and Technical Information Network). The DTIC collection supplements Stanford Library's JPRS collection, which is only selective in the years prior to the commencement of depository distribution of the reports (1978). While the STINET web site says that the reports begin in 1974, full-text copies have been found as far back as 1960. Thus, this index is unique in providing a single point of access to nearly the entire JPRS collection. Some JPRS reports are also available via Foreign Broadcast Information Service (FBIS) daily reports. The DTIC is the central facility for the collection and dissemination of scientific and technical information for the Department of Defense (DoD). Much of this information is made available by DTIC in the form of technical reports about completed research, and research summaries of ongoing research. To search Public STINET 1) Open Advanced Fielded Search. 2) Try limiting your search to these Identifiers: FBIS Collection, FBIS, JPRS. 3) Also try limiting your search to Corporate Author: "Joint Publications Research Service Arlington VA" 4) Enter search terms in All Fields. 5) See Search Tips for more detailed assistance.
