According to the site, particular strengths of the Michigan collection are education, psychology, American history, sociology, religion, and science and technology, while Cornell focuses mainly on digitizing general interest periodicals. The sites are comprised of pages scanned from the original volumes using Optical Character Recognition software, and are full-text searchable and accessible through screen reader software. The collections can be searched using limiters, proximity operators, material types and time periods. It is also possible to browse by journal title and volume or article title and author.
