Summary:
The collection covers Middle Eastern history from 1812-1958; countries included are: Afghanistan, Egypt, Sudan, Persia, Suez Canal, Turkey, Jordan, Arabia, Iraq, Lebanon, Israel, Palestine, and Syria. The series originated out of a need for the British Government to preserve all of the most important papers generated by the Foreign and Colonial Offices. Some of these were one page letters or telegrams -- others were large volumes or texts of treaties. All items marked 'Confidential Print' were circulated to leading officials in the Foreign Office, to the Cabinet, and to heads of British missions abroad.

Also provides the status of federal legislation, and access to the Congressional Record. GovTrack.us is a non-commercial, non-partisan, and open-source project. Bills may be searched and browsed going back to the 103rd Congress (1993-94), though the text of legislation goes back only as far as the 106th Congress (1999-2000). Roll call votes are available back to 1990 for the House and 1989 for the Senate

The Parliament of Canada in collaboration with the Library of Parliament initiated a project to reconstitute the early debates of the Senate from 1867 to 1870, and of the House of Commons for the years 1867 through 1874, using newspaper reports of the day as the source of information. Official reporting of the debates of Canada's Parliament began in 1871 in the Senate and in 1875 in the House of Commons. Prior to this, there was no official record of what was said in Parliament.
