Summary:
Contains bibliographic, chemical and crystallographic information for organic molecules and metal-organic compounds whose 3D structures have been determined using X-ray diffraction or neutron diffraction. Records results of single crystal studies and powder diffraction studies which yield 3D atomic coordinate data for at least all non-H atoms. In some cases the CCDC is unable to obtain coordinates and incomplete entries are archived to the CSD. Also includes crystal structure data arising from publications in the open literature and private communications to the CSD (via direct data deposition). The Cambridge Structural Database (CSD) is distributed as part of the CSD System which includes software for search and information retrieval (ConQuest), structure visualisation (Mercury), numerical analysis (Vista), and database creation (PreQuest). The CSD System also incorporates IsoStar, a knowledge base of intermolecular interactions, containing data derived from both the CSD and the PDB.

Summary:
Indexes the hundreds of environmental impact statements issued by United States government agencies each year. For each environmental impact statement indexed in the database, an abstract includes a concise description of the project, sections on positive impact and negative consequences, and a list of legal mandates. The database indexes statements published from 1985 to the present.

Summary:
Contains 10,955 monographs describing significant chemicals, drugs, and biological substances. The entries are not a listing of Merck & Co., Inc. products, but rather cover a wide range of compounds, which have been selected on the basis of present or historic importance and interest. Each monograph is a concise description of a single substance or a small group of closely related compounds. The information provided includes chemical, common and generic names, trademarks and their associated companies, Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) Registry Numbers, molecular formulas and weights, physical and toxicity data, therapeutic and commercial uses, citations to the chemical, biomedical and patent literature, and chemical structures. Also includes: Organic Name Reactions: this section is comprised of 446 named reactions and an index. A concise reference history and associated reaction schema are provided for each reaction or sub-reaction. Additional tables: a compilation of over 60 p. of tables including a glossary is provided to supplement the material presented in the monographs.

Summary:
Provides graphical abstracts of new developments in natural product chemistry, selected from dozens of key primary journals. Coverage includes: isolation studies, biosynthesis, new natural products, known compounds from new sources, structure determinations, and new properties and biological activities. Over 200 graphical abstracts are contained in each monthly bulletin, including structure diagrams, trivial and taxonomic names, molecular formulae, physical and biological properties. Subscribers to the monthly print bulletin also have free access to Natural Product Updates Online, the fully searchable web database which allows users to search across all items published in NPU to date. This service provides full text search capability on a variety of terms. An email alerting service is also available, allowing users to sign up for an email message every time a new monthly bulletin is published online.

Summary:
A compendium of data extracted from the scientific literature. For each chemical substance indexed in RTECS, six types of toxicity data are included: (1) primary irritation; (2) mutagenic effects; (3) reproductive effects; (4) tumorigenic effects; (5) acute toxicity; and (6) other multiple dose toxicity. Specific numeric toxicity values such as LD50, LC50, TDLo, and TCLo are noted as well as species studied and route of administration used. For each citation, the bibliographic source is listed thereby enabling the user to access the actual studies cited.

Summary:
By Congressional mandate, the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) produces "toxicological profiles" for hazardous substances found at National Priorities List (NPL) sites. These hazardous substances are ranked based on frequency of occurrence at NPL sites, toxicity, and potential for human exposure. Toxicological profiles are developed from a priority list of 275 substances. ATSDR also prepares toxicological profiles for the Department of Defense (DOD) and the Department of Energy (DOE) on substances related to federal sites. So far, 296 toxicological profiles have been published or are under development as “finals” or “drafts for public comment”; 281 profiles were published as finals; 130 profiles have been updated. Currently, 7 profiles are being revised based on public comments received. These profiles cover more than 250 substances.

Summary:
Indexes the world's zoological and animal science literature, covering all research from biochemistry to veterinary medicine. The database provides a collection of references from over 4,500 international serial publications, plus books, meetings, reviews and other no- serial literature from over 100 countries. It is the oldest continuing database of animal biology, indexing literature published from 1864 to the present. Zoological Record has long been recognized as the "unofficial register" for taxonomy and systematics, but other topics in animal biology are also covered.
